Brief description :

The overall objective of the action is to contribute to the improvement of overall economic development conditions in ERC and Kosovo through engagement of local agricultural businesses and farmers to reach regional markets, increase their market share, grow their assortment of products, create new job opportunities and stimulate import substitution. In addition, the action seeks to improve supplier and value chain by setting up the farmers market aiming at promoting local products; and, to re-vitalise rural economy in region Centre and other Kosovo regions by creating new job opportunities, particularly for young farmers in order to reduce unemployment, alleviate poverty and reduce migration.

The action seeks to establish three (3) mobile markets in Prishtina, where 1,200 farmers of the ERC will market and promote their local products. The action proposed in this project aims to strengthen the cooperation between local authorities and business community in order to improve economic conditions of the ERC. The proposed project will decrease unemployment rate of the region centre, particularly in municipality of Prishtina, Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje, Podujeva, Lipjan, Dermas/Gllogovc, Obiliq, and Gracanica municipalities, where the employment opportunities are very low. Project is designed in such comprehensive approach that is in full agreement with needs of target groups and final beneficiaries.

CEED KOSOVO activities in this project as a co-applicant are to train, mentor, coach and provide Business Consultancy Services to Farmers of Prishtina Region in enhancing their soft skills (i.e. Marketing Strategy, branding, labeling, Farm management, operations management, Sales, networking with other farmers and agricultural processors) as well as increasing awareness of broader audience in consuming local products
