At a glance: CEED Kosovo uses personal data to operate CEED Biz, manage accounts and membership applications, display profiles and offers, enable communication, protect the Platform, and send optional updates. We do not sell personal data.

This Policy explains how CEED Kosovo collects and uses personal data through CEED Biz. It should be read with the Terms of Use and Cookie Policy and is intended to comply with Law No. 06/L-082 on Protection of Personal Data and other applicable Kosovo laws.

1. Who we are

CEED Kosovo operates CEED Biz and is responsible for the personal data processed through the Platform.

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you use CEED Biz, we may collect:

  • Identity, contact, account, and security details, such as your name, email, telephone number, address, username, role, login history, and profile photograph.
  • Professional, company, membership, and application information, including job title, biography, skills, company details, membership plan, and supporting documents.
  • Profiles, offers, requests, messages, reviews, files, support requests, feedback, and other content you submit.
  • Technical, usage, cookie, consent, marketing, and communication-preference information.

We do not normally request sensitive personal data. Please do not submit it unless CEED Kosovo specifically asks for it and explains why it is needed.

3. How and why we use personal data

We use personal data to:

  • create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide Platform features;
  • review applications and manage CEED memberships, programs, projects, events, and services;
  • create profiles and publish offers, requests, reviews, and other user content;
  • enable communication, networking, mentoring, support, and content moderation;
  • improve and secure CEED Biz, prevent fraud, send permitted communications, and meet legal obligations or legal claims.

The legal basis may be your consent, steps requested before entering an agreement, performance of an agreement, compliance with a legal obligation, or CEED Kosovo’s legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

4. Profiles, user content, and messages

Information submitted for a member, mentor, company, or professional profile may be visible to visitors or registered users, depending on the Platform settings. Business offers, requests, reviews, and other content may also be published. Do not submit information that you do not want displayed or that you do not have the right to share.

Messages sent through CEED Biz are intended for professional and business communication. Authorized CEED Kosovo personnel and service providers may access or review communications when necessary to provide support, investigate misuse, maintain security, enforce the Terms of Use, or comply with law.

5. Cookies and Meta/Facebook Pixel

CEED Biz may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Website working, remember preferences, maintain security, understand Website use, and measure campaign performance. The Website may also use the Meta/Facebook Pixel or similar tools, which may collect device and Website-interaction information.

Where required by law, non-essential cookies and tracking technologies will be used only after you provide consent. You can manage or withdraw consent through the cookie settings. More details should be provided in the CEED Biz Cookie Policy.

6. How we share personal data

We may share personal data only where necessary with:

  • hosting, website, database, email, newsletter, analytics, security, backup, and technical service providers;
  • CEED staff, authorized administrators, programs, projects, partners, or advisers who need the information for a legitimate purpose;
  • other users when you publish a profile, offer, request, review, or send a message;
  • competent authorities, courts, regulators, or law-enforcement bodies where legally required; and
  • a successor organization if CEED Kosovo undergoes a lawful restructuring or transfer.

CEED Kosovo does not sell personal data. Some providers may process data outside Kosovo. Where this occurs, CEED Kosovo will use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards where required.

7. Retention and security

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to operate the Platform, maintain required records, resolve disputes, protect security, and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, it will be deleted, anonymized, or securely restricted, subject to lawful backup and recordkeeping requirements.

We use reasonable safeguards such as access controls, permissions, secure configuration, backups, monitoring, confidentiality duties, and service-provider agreements. No online service is completely secure, so users should protect their passwords and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data and receive information about its use;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion or restriction of processing;
  • receive certain data in a portable format;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
  • withdraw consent at any time; and
  • complain to the Information and Privacy Agency of the Republic of Kosovo.

To exercise a right, email info@ceed-kosovo.org with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may ask for information to verify your identity. We will normally respond within one month, although the period may be extended where legally permitted because a request is complex or numerous.

9. Marketing, children, and external links

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting CEED Kosovo. This will not stop essential account, security, membership, or administrative messages.

CEED Biz accounts and restricted features are intended for users aged 18 or older. The Platform is not intended for children under 13. If CEED Kosovo learns that data was collected from an ineligible child, it will take reasonable steps to delete or restrict it.

CEED Biz may link to third-party websites and social-media services. Those services process personal data under their own privacy policies, and CEED Kosovo is not responsible for their independent practices.

10. Changes, complaints, and contact

CEED Kosovo may update this Privacy Policy when the Platform, technology, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on the Website with a revised effective date. Significant changes may also be communicated by email or through the Platform.
